Timeline of Personal Activity Involving Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church Work: (Taken from the personal log of David A. Larson, Senior Pastor of the Athens Wesleyan Church)


1. May 6, 1994–met the first time with Elwood Braund and 3 other couples to talk about starting a Wesleyan Church.

2. May 22, 1994–Met with the larger group with the Rev. Wayne Wager –at David and Gail’s home. When asked if they thought they wanted to become Wesleyan, it was unanimous.

3. June 15, 1994 –Met again with those wanting to be part of the Wesleyan Church.

4. August 25, 1994 –a meeting with Rev. Robert and Esther Finch along with the Mt. Pisgah Church leaders.

5. August 31, 1994 –walked prospective property sites for church.

6. November 9, 1994–start of first six weeks of membership classes.

7. January 19, 1995 –began Thursday night bible studies.

8. April 2, 1995 –received the first members of the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church.

9. April 16, 1995 –First baptism, Caytlyn Michelle Nichols.

10. April 28, 1995 –meeting with the Finches and Ensigns.

11. May 9, 1995-looked at the site on Burlington Tpke-thought to be the most promising of all the sites.

12. July 20, 1995 –Mt. Pisgah meeting with Lynn Ensign.

13. September 23, 1995-Lynn Ensign installed as pastor of the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church.
